Who Speaks For Palestine?
I weep for Palestine
its people so casually
thrown to death
as a Roman spectacle,
taunted and torn
its children sleep with bombs
their parents wear amulets
of bullets while the
youth are married to horror
under concrete confetti
and shattered meaning,
livestock and water pipes
have been murdered too,
hospitals no longer breathe
schools have fallen silent,
those who speak peace
are locked in a room
with deaf and blind
apparatchiks of the hungry,
frenzied death machine,
who will speak for Palestine?
