73 Dead in Gaza after Hostage Deal. 302,000 Children Killed in 9 Months

Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza on October 7, on average more than 10 children a day have lost a limb. Furthermore, due to the paralysis of the health system caused by the conflict, many of the amputations have been performed without any anesthesia. Save the Children reported this in January 2024, then they even lost count of those killed…

We waited hours before publishing the enthusiastic news of the agreement reached for a ceasefire in Gaza and the gradual release of Israeli hostages by the terrorist organization Hamas because we expected a last-minute surprise that would allow the internationally wanted Benjamin Netanyahu , leader of the Zionist regime in Tel Aviv, to find an excuse to continue the genocide.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office denounced what it called a “last-minute crisis,” accusing Hamas of reneging on parts of the agreement in an attempt to “extort last-minute concessions.”
“The Israeli Cabinet will not meet” to approve the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement “until mediators communicate to Israel that Hamas has accepted all elements of the agreement,” Netanyahu’s office said. The Israeli Cabinet meeting to approve the agreement was initially scheduled for this morning at 11 a.m. local time, or 10 a.m. GMT.
Hostages’ Families: “Only Netanyahu Responsible If Deal Collapses”
The families of the hostages at the Haim Forum, referring to the announcement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office that “Hamas retracts its understanding,” said that “neither Hamas nor Ben Gvir, but Benjamin Netanyahu, will be responsible for any further obstruction to the return of the hostages.”
According to the families, “the agreement must be started immediately in all its phases” . Many of them have already filed formal complaints against the government, in addition to those of the survivors of the Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023, in which the Israel Defense Forces and Intelligence were accused of having ignored warnings of imminent terrorist action.
In this context, it should not be forgotten that many American intelligence experts have accused Hamas of being controlled by the Israeli counter-espionage agency Mossad to facilitate Israel’s plan for ethnic cleansing and depopulation of the Gaza Strip…
“Hamas is not backtracking on its truce agreement in Gaza,” said Izzat el-Risheq , a senior Hamas official, who denied allegations to The Times of Israel that the terror group had reneged on details of the hostage deal.
Even if the agreement is confirmed, it remains to be seen whether it will hold. Given that in Lebanon Israel has violated the ceasefire hundreds of times and has once again postponed its withdrawal from southern Lebanese territories…
Similarly, the IDF will not leave the Philadelphia corridor during the first phase of the agreement, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
“Contrary to misleading reports, Israel will not withdraw from the Philadelphia Corridor. Israel will remain in Phase A of the corridor for the entire 42-day period,” the statement read.
The Lancet: Real Numbers of the Inhuman Zionist Genocide
At least 73 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza after the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas was announced, the Gaza Civil Defense said.
The actual number of people who have died directly as a result of the war in Gaza is about 41% higher than the official figures reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, according to a study published in the Lancet.
The Health Ministry reported that 37,877 people died during the first nine months of Israel’s air and ground operations in Gaza, but the true figure is closer to 64,260, researchers estimated after analyzing several overlapping data sets.
The estimated total would mean that nearly 3% of Gaza’s population was killed between October 2023 and June 2024.
“The UN Human Rights Office has already condemned the high number of civilians killed in the war in Gaza and our findings suggest that the death toll from traumatic injuries is underestimated by around 41%,” said Zeina Jamaluddine, an epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, writes BMJ.
The American Christian website Countercurrents.org analyzed the study in even more detail:
On 9 January 2025, epidemiologists published an article in the leading medical journal The Lancet in which they estimated 64,260 deaths in Gaza from traumatic injuries in the 9 months from 7 October 2023 , but applying an expert estimate of 4 indirect deaths for every 1 direct death (Rashid et al, The Lancet, 10 July 2024) gives 4 x 64,260 = 257,040 additional deaths from imposed deprivation and a total of 321,300 deaths in Gaza from violence and deprivation in the first 9 months.
The Lancet estimate of 64,260 violent deaths in Gaza in the first 9 months (9 January 2025) corresponds to 64,260 x 12/9 = 85,680 violent deaths in the first year of the Gaza massacre. However, as carefully estimated below, this indicates 5 x 85,680 = 429,300 deaths from violence and imposed deprivation in the first year of the Gaza massacre, including the deaths of 302,743 children, 39,668 women and 86,891 men.
The numbers are controversial but substantially confirm the enormous scale of a genocide endorsed by NATO countries including the USA and Italy who, while hypocritically mourning the civilian deaths, have always legitimized and armed the government of Benjamin Netanyahu in perpetrating the Arab holocaust.
Arabs Celebrate Truce, Israel Divides
To understand who is on the right side of history and who will be remembered as the Hitler of the Third Millennium, it is enough to analyze a few facts following the agreement for a ceasefire and the gradual release of the hostages reached between representatives of Israel and Hamas in Qatar with the mediation of the USA and Egypt.
In Palestine as in Iran, people took to the streets to celebrate the long-awaited agreement on the 42-day truce and the release of 33 hostages. Many Israelis did the same, protesting for months in solidarity with the families of the kidnapped because of the Israeli government’s inertia in the negotiations for their release.
Instead, the far-right Religious Zionism party will meet this morning to consider whether to resign from Israel’s government following the truce agreement reached with Hamas, the Times of Israel reports .
Religious Zionism leader Bezalel Smotrich called the deal “bad and dangerous.” Citing an anonymous, knowledgeable source, Ynet reports that Smotrich fears the deal could damage his reputation among his voters if he remains in the ruling coalition.
The Main Points of the Israel-Hamas Agreement
If the agreement is confirmed despite the doubts of the last few hours, it will develop in three phases and includes a six-week truce starting from Sunday 19 January , accompanied by the opening of negotiations for a total cessation of the war.
Within six weeks, 33 of the nearly 100 hostages will be reunited with their loved ones after months of captivity without contact with the outside world, although it is unclear whether all are alive. The Israelis would release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange.
In the meantime, Israeli troops should gradually withdraw from Gaza and allow the UN free access to provide humanitarian assistance to the population.
It remains unclear when and how many displaced Palestinians will be able to return to what remains of their homes and whether the deal will lead to a complete end to the war and a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza – key demands of Hamas for the release of the remaining prisoners.
