It’s been almost a year since The Roys Report (TRR) exposed Daystar TV’s alleged cover-up of the sexual abuse of the young daughter of former Daystar executive Jonathan Lamb and his wife Suzy.
Since then, more than two dozen broadcast ministries have left the Christian network, and the Lamb family dynasty has remained sharply divided.
On one side are Jonathan and Suzy, who brought abuse allegations against a family member whom TRR called “Pete” in its previous reporting.
Subsequently, the parents were fired from their jobs — Jonathan as Daystar vice president and Suzy as co-host of a Daystar program the couple hosted together.
On the other side is Jonathan’s mother: Daystar President Joni Lamb, who’s accused of orchestrating the cover-up to protect “Pete.” Seemingly aligning with her have been her daughters: Rachel Lamb Brown and Rebecca Lamb Weiss, and their spouses — all of whom are Daystar employees and appear routinely on network shows.Jonathan and Suzy Lamb appear on Daystar TV in 2023. However, TRR has exclusively obtained stunning videos of police interviews of Rebecca Weiss and her husband Jonathan “J.W.” Weiss, conducted in January 2025, revealed their suspicions about the perpetrator.
Though the couple seem unsure about the allegations against “Pete” in their first interview on Jan. 21, their tune changes dramatically by the second interview a week later.
By then, the couple had talked with a housekeeper, who witnessed some of the events in question. The couple also had re-read a 2021 letter that J.W. composed and gave to a family friend, Denise Boggs of Living Waters Ministry, detailing concerns about “Pete.”
TRR previously used a pseudonym for “Pete” because he has never been charged by police. However, the videos include an interview with “Pete.” He also is mentioned numerous times in videos of interviews with witnesses, and his identity has been shared widely on social media.
Thus, we are disclosing that “Pete” is Josh Brown, director of business development at Daystar TV and the husband of Rachel Lamb Brown. TRR reached out to Josh to respond to the allegations in these interviews, but he did not reply.
“My initial thought was that (Josh) did do something,” Rebecca tells Colleyville, Texas, Police Detective Nick Garcia during the second interview. (Colleyville is where both the Lambs and the Browns lived when the alleged abuse occurred.) “But because of all the years and because of the two versions of events — and just honestly, I have trust issues with people on both sides of the situation . . . it’s taken a while to gather our thoughts.

Rebecca then recounts a much-publicized incident in August 2021 at a vacation house Daystar had rented for its annual executive retreat in Miramar Beach, Florida. This is where Josh allegedly followed Jonathan and Suzy’s 5-year-old daughter upstairs, after Suzy told the girl to change into her bathing suit. Jonathan then found Josh with his naked daughter in her bedroom.
“If you heard someone say, ‘Go up and change,’ why would you follow them up the stairs?” Rebecca asks.
J.W. expresses similar sentiments. And near the end of the second interview, he asks Garcia what the timetable is for “getting Josh charged and dealt with.”
Garcia responds, “If I get all the pieces of the puzzle, then I can get a more definitive answer on that. But as of right now, I can’t tell you: ‘It’s gonna be this day, this time.’”
Rebecca responds that she just wants “to bring what’s true and get it handled.”
“Because we’re living in it right now,” J.W. interjects, “and it’s getting very tiring.”
Rebecca adds, “If he is a pedophile and he is doing this, we need him dealt with. Period. For our niece—”

Four months after these interviews, in May 2025, Colleyville police closed the case involving the alleged sexual abuse of Jonathan and Suzy’s daughter (often referred to online as “Baby Lamb”) without filing any charges.
Police noted at the time that the child had not “made an outcry” but said if she did, they would reopen the case.
‘Baby Lamb’ case opened and closed twice
Suzy Lamb says the Miramar Beach incident was not the first time something suspicious had happened with her daughter. In November 2020 — about eight months before the incident at Miramar Beach — her daughter had described an incident of sexual abuse to her mother in graphic detail. Though the girl didn’t name her abuser, she told her mother it was “a boy taller than Daddy.”
But after talking one-on-one with Joni the next day, the girl shut down and hasn’t talked about the abuse since, Suzy told TRR previously. Despite this, the parents reported the abuse to police later the same day. (Joni has denied ever bringing up the topic with her granddaughter.)
The case involving “Baby Lamb” has been opened and closed twice now—first in 2020 because the girl wouldn’t talk to police.
It was reopened in February 2024, after Jonathan and Suzy told a counselor what had happened with their daughter, beginning with the initial disclosure in 2020 and the beach incident in 2021.
The couple also told the counselor about a series of suspicious behaviors by Josh they learned of later. And they relayed that they had discovered just three months earlier that a forensic interview with Josh in 2021 had not cleared him, as Jonathan’s late father, Daystar founder Marcus Lamb, had told Jonathan.
As a result, the counselor reported the alleged abuse to Child Protective Services in Texas, which contacted Colleyville police. According to police notes, Garcia asked Suzy to put him in contact with J.W. and Rebecca in July 2024. Suzy reportedly told Garcia that she wasn’t in contact with them, but if he found them, they might talk.
Garcia reports that he didn’t receive any further information until an entry on Nov. 15, 2024, when he received a voice message from a journalist (TRR) wanting to speak about the case.
Then, after TRR published about the Lamb’s case, Garcia notes several people contacted police, urging further investigation. On Jan. 10, 2025, he said he attempted to contact J.W. and Rebecca by phone. He also went to the couple’s house, but no one answered the door. Five days later, J.W. called Garcia back. And on January 21, the couple came into the police station for their first interview.
Videos of their interviews were obtained with a public information request by Jonathan and Suzy Lamb, then given to TRR. The Lambs said police released the videos only to them because they are the alleged victim’s parents.
In a statement to TRR, the Lambs said the police interviews “are part of a process that began last year” of shining “light into the darkness.”
“We have not followed the opinions of man but, at great personal cost, have chosen to do what God asked of us in sharing our story with Julie,” the Lambs stated. After Suzy was fired, “she felt led to cut off contact with everyone at Daystar,” the couple states. “During that season, we were slandered, lied about, tracked, accused of extortion, and humiliated at every opportunity. . . .
The couple state that “(a)ny claim” they are parents “who did not care is completely false,” noting that they had multiple conversations with police as they sought justice.
The Lambs add: “In their second interview, Rebecca and J.W. spoke the truth, and our hearts are full of gratitude for their courage and boldness. We continue to trust God with the outcome of this entire situation as we remain obedient to His call.”
‘I saw him force himself on her to kiss her’
In the first police interview on Jan. 21, 2025, Detective Garcia asks J.W. and Rebecca about the contents of the 2021 letter J.W. wrote, detailing Josh’s concerning behavior. J.W. then begins to detail Josh’s behaviors that he found “alarming,” but not criminal.

J.W. tells Garcia that he saw Josh “force himself on (Baby Lamb) to kiss her in the green room setting on two separate occasions. And both times, I was like, ‘Ew, why is he doing that?’
“In one instance, “I saw him, like, grab her—and her trying to shrivel . . . and him, like, forcing a mouth-to-mouth kiss.
“And then, on a separate occasion, I was very close . . . And he came and was asking for a kiss, going like this,” (leans in like he’s going to kiss Rebecca) “and he grabbed her by the face” (puts hands on either side of Rebecca’s face) “and did a flip, little kiss on her there.
“. . . I was like, wanted to, like, freak out. It was weird. You know?”
“It was weird, like — not a blood uncle?” Garcia asks.
“Yeah,” J.W. states.
“Exactly,” Rebecca replies.
J.W. also expresses dismay about the way Jonathan and Suzy handled Josh’s inappropriate behavior. J.W. said that one of the times he saw Josh kiss the couple’s daughter, Suzy was in the room the whole time. J.W. said he waved his arms, trying to get Suzy’s attention, but Suzy pretended like she couldn’t see him.
When TRR asked Suzy about her lack of response, she said she did not recall ever seeing Josh kiss her daughter in that way. However, she said she vividly recalled J.W. and Rebecca telling her about Josh kissing her daughter in the green room while Suzy and Jonathan were on set recording their show. After that time, Suzy said she hired a nanny to stay with her daughter in the green room as much as possible, or she just brought her onto the set.
But Suzy added that she had learned that if she made a fuss about something Josh or Rachel did, Joni would punish her for it. As a result, she said she tried not to react to their behavior.
For instance, at some point in 2020, prior to Baby Lamb’s disclosure of abuse, Josh and Rachel invited Jonathan and Suzy’s two children to stay overnight at their house. Suzy said she initially refused to let her children go. But when Joni found out, she gave Suzy such a hard time about it that Suzy relented.
In an Instagram post after the allegations went public, Rachel denied this sleepover ever took place.

However, TRR was given access to Jonathan and Suzy’s son Israel, who said he clearly remembers sleeping over at Josh and Rachel’s. Israel would have been 7 at the time, and his sister would have been 4.
J.W. and Rebecca admit in the interview that they don’t allow Josh in their house. Initially, they said they banned Josh because he was mean to them and their children.
“But then after the allegations came out . . . I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re just not allowed here,’” J.W. said.
Though the couple was close to Jonathan and Suzy at one time, their view of them has clearly soured in recent years. They expressed theories that Jonathan had a plan to take his mother down, so he could become president of Daystar. This echoes a statement Joni released 11 months ago, but Jonathan denies.
The couple was unsure if this plan played into Jonathan and Suzy’s decision to go public with the allegations about Josh or not.
‘No idea what actually happened’
J.W. and Rebecca also discussed the 2021 incident at Miramar Beach in their first interview. The couple told Garcia that they were outside by the pool when the incident occurred, so they witnessed only the aftermath.
J.W. said Jonathan rushed out to the pool, “and he said, ‘It’s all going down right now. I caught Josh!’”
J.W. said he and Rebecca then went inside the house, “and Josh is chasing Jonathan around the house, saying, ‘I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.’ And Rachel’s screaming. And Suzy’s screaming.”
Rebecca told the detective she has “no idea what actually happened” because there are two versions of events.

One version, purported by Joni, claims that Josh, holding his 1-year-old son, went upstairs into the children’s bedroom because Jonathan and Suzy’s son, Israel, invited him to see the “city view” from a bedroom window.
The girl then entered the room and started changing into her bathing suit. And Jonathan arrived when his daughter was naked, and Israel and Josh were looking out the window.
However, Suzy contends that Josh, carrying his son, followed her daughter upstairs into her bedroom immediately after Suzy told the girl to get changed into her bathing suit. Upset, Suzy ran and got Jonathan, who ran upstairs and found Josh in the bedroom with his naked daughter.
Jonathan said Israel was also in the bedroom but was on his bed and likely oblivious to what was happening. When TRR spoke with Israel previously, he confirmed that he was on his bed and unaware of what was going on between Josh and his sister.

The letter
Throughout the interview, Garcia asks if he can see the 2021 letter J.W. wrote, detailing concerns about Josh.
At first, J.W. says Garcia can have it. Then, he asks if the letter would remain confidential.
Garcia says that if the investigation remains open, the letter would not be released. But if the case is closed, the evidence gathered during the investigation could become public.
Daystar attorney Heiskell then suggests that J.W. send the letter to him. Then, Heiskell can redact any “commentary and opinions” in the letter and send it to the detective.
Everyone expresses approval of this idea, and the interview ends.
‘That just confirms to me something’s off’
Sometime between the two interviews, Heiskell apparently agreed to give a printout of J.W.’s letter to Garcia to read in his presence but then return afterwards. In the second interview on Jan. 28, Garcia reads the letter and then asks the Weiss couple clarifying questions.
The biggest revelation in the video is that Silvia Torres Gonzalez, Joni’s cleaning lady, witnessed the incident at Miramar Beach. Apparently, she confirmed Suzy’s account of what happened and contradicted Joni’s account.
“(Silvia) said that she heard (Baby Lamb) say, ‘I want to go swimming,’” Rebecca recalls. “Suzy said, ‘Okay.’ Josh was there in the kitchen or something. (Suzy) said, ‘Okay, go upstairs and go change.’ And (Baby Lamb) went to go change, and then Josh followed.”

J.W. adds that Silvia told the couple the day before about another incident between Josh and Baby Lamb.
“She saw Josh floating with (Baby Lamb) in the pool and kissing her on her neck, on her face, on her head, incessantly,” J.W. says.
“And she remembers thinking, ‘Why would you do that?’” Rebecca adds. “She’s just a baby . . . three at the time.”
Rebecca said hearing Silvia’s testimony “solidified” her suspicions that Josh had done something to Jonathan and Suzy’s daughter.
J.W. also divulges that Silvia said she was with Jonathan and Suzy’s son and daughter while the adults in the family were talking in the basement, immediately following the incident. Silvia reportedly told J.W. that Israel said that “Josh and (Baby Lamb) were naked in the same room.”
(TRR spoke with Jonathan Lamb about this claim, and he said Josh was clothed when he found him in the room.)
