According to reports from NPR and other outlets, Pride Month sponsorships have dropped sharply this year, with some organizers reporting 60% to 70% fewer donations compared to previous years.
Large companies that once aggressively promoted LGBTQ causes are now becoming more cautious after years of consumer backlash and costly boycotts. Organizers in cities such as New York, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Orlando, and Tampa have struggled to replace lost corporate funding.
Some Pride organizations have been forced to cancel events entirely. Tampa Pride suspended all events for 2026, citing a lack of funding and the current political climate. Phoenix Pride filed for bankruptcy after suffering a massive financial shortfall.
“What once was [an] organizational asset has now become an organizational risk,” advertising professor E. Ciszek told NPR, referring to corporate involvement in Pride campaigns.States Push Back
Recent polling suggests public opinion is also shifting. National support has declined slightly, while surveys found moral approval of homosexual relationships at its lowest point in nearly a decade.
Several states are openly resisting Pride Month messaging, as well.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently declared June to be “Fidelity Month,” encouraging citizens to renew commitments to “God, family, community, and country.” Tennessee Governor Bill Lee proclaimed June as “Nuclear Family Month,” declaring that “the nuclear family is God’s perfect design for humanity.”
Indiana leaders issued a similar “Nuclear Family Month” declaration, while Utah promoted its own “Fidelity Month” observance. Alabama also joined the trend with a “Strong Families Month” proclamation emphasizing the importance of stable homes and traditional family structures.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins praised the trend, saying, “Sometimes leadership is nothing more than having the courage to say what most people understand to be the truth, but they’re afraid to say it.”The Agenda Continues
Though public enthusiasm for Pride may be cooling, the ideology itself remains deeply rooted in many powerful institutions.
In Colorado, Governor Jared Polis recently signed legislation and an executive order expanding restrictions against so-called “conversion therapy” — counseling that helps people overcome same-sex attraction or gender confusion. The law limits counselors from helping people leave LGBTQ lifestyles behind, while still allowing counseling that encourages people to embrace those identities.
Meanwhile, LGBTQ activists continue aggressively pushing their ideology on children through entertainment, education, and media aimed at young audiences.
This month, Sesame Street again celebrated Pride Month on social media with rainbow-themed imagery and messaging supporting the LGBTQ community. The children’s program has repeatedly promoted Pride themes in recent years, including introducing a same-sex couple into the show in 2021.A Greater Need for the Gospel
Christians should not respond to these cultural shifts with despair — or assume the battle is already won. The truth is that people trapped in sexual sin, confusion, and false identities desperately need the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Behind every rainbow flag, political slogan, or identity label is a real person made in the image of God — someone Christ died for. Rather than retreating from these conversations, believers must lovingly speak the truth and point people to the saving power of Jesus Christ.
To help meet this need, Chick Publications has released a new Gospel tract titled The Real You. The tract addresses modern identity confusion while clearly presenting the hope of salvation found in Christ.
As the culture continues shifting and confusion grows darker, now is the time for believers to boldly proclaim the Gospel to everyone they meet — including those who identify with LGBTQ labels — while doors are still open.
