I posted several sermon clips this past week on Twitter. Some of them went viral. The first one I posted, you’ve probably already seen. It caused quite an uproar and was even covered in many national news publications. It was an Episcopal priestess named “Flourish Klink”—fitting name, I know—who said that Jesus was transgender.

Episcopal priestess says Mary assigned Jesus male at birth, but he was trans. And when he was resurrected, he came back as His true, transgender self.

Even Glenn Beck commented on that tweet—but I had a newsflash for Glenn. Mormonism is just as blasphemous. You can read about that here.
My next tweet didn’t quite have the same reach, but I thought it was worth covering. A queer “church” with a queer “pastor” places a picture of Dolly Parton on the altar and praises her for being an “LGBTQ icon.”

During “Queer-led Worship” at “Lutheran” Church in SC, dude praises Dolly Parton as a queer icon, then ends with “Thanks be to Dolly, and Thanks be to God.”

Then, I posted another clip of a UCC pastor who says after he deconstructed his Mormon faith, he got himself a red-letter Bible where he could ignore “all those other little black words” and when he did, he discovered that, well, ackshuuuaally, Jesus was a progressive Jew, just like we’re called to be progressive Christians.

Yesterday I posted another tweet where He/Him “pastor” Braeden Storkensen says he and fellow pastors at his former megachurch privately denied Hell and supported homosexuality, but preached otherwise, fearing conservatives would stop tithing.
Storkensen was the youth pastor at Rancho Church in Temecula, CA.

These next two are newer, but are starting to get some momentum in the algorithm. First up is a PCUSA pastor who explains how the Bible does NOT teach “exactly two genders” and how Galatians 3:28 can free us from this kind of “strict binary” thinking.

And the next one is of “Rev” Jeanne M. Hansknecht of St. Paul’s, who says that Jesus demonstrated that Lazarus was gay by calling him to “come out.” Then, after arguing that Lazarus had no recorded wife or children, she spews this gem:
“And he was a good friend of Jesus, not a student or disciple, but a friend, which in my mind’s eye ranks right up there with being a friend of Dorothy.”
For context, “friend of Dorothy” is a longstanding expression historically used to identify gay men.

And finally, there’s this one that I just posted a few minutes ago. This one might be the craziest of them all. In a Sermon titled “Deconstructing Homophobia,” Fountain Street Church opens with “Beatitudes of a Queer Church”:
“Blessed are those who try, who transform, who transition…Blessed are the closeted, God sees you shine anyway…Blessed are the queers who love creation enough to live the truth of it despite a world that tells them they cannot…”
